Earth Warriors Free Pilot Lessons: Ages 8-11

• This resource provides three lesson plans from the Earth Warriors Curriculum.
• In Lesson 1, students learn about their role in protecting planet Earth and pledge to become "Earth Warriors."
• In Lesson 2, students learn about how ice sheets and glaciers are melting as Earth's climate is changing and getting warmer.
• In Lesson 3, students will think about ways they can take action by raising awareness about an endangered mammal.

Positives

• Students can watch videos and learn from real-life examples of children taking action to prevent climate change.
• There are activities and additional resources for each lesson, including a song with dance moves and a template for drawing a comic strip. 
  

Additional Prerequisites

• Teachers will need a projector or screen to display the presentation slides and videos, unless they are assigned for computer use.
• Other materials needed include a globe, pencils or markers, an image of an iceberg, flip chart paper, and recycled cardboard. 

Differentiation

• While these lessons are advertised as being for ages 8-11, they could be used for younger students with very little prior knowledge about climate change.
• Try the learning activities and additional resources provided to help students dive deeper into each topic and to practice taking action against climate change.
