Elementary GLOBE Clouds Module

Differentiation

• Language arts students can make connections when describing the clouds and weather. Teachers can encourage students to use rich descriptive language to help someone picture the scene without seeing it.
• Teachers can extend the lesson to learn about the role of clouds in the water cycle, the necessity of cloud observation and weather forecasting, especially as extreme weather events become increasingly more common, or contrail research and how contrails contribute to climate change.
• Have students label the different types of clouds on Coloring Page A after they have colored it.
• Students can routinely observe clouds and record data about the frequency of certain clouds in their area over time.
