Summer Learning Activities K-2

Ask a Question

Synopsis
  • This fun summer learning activity sheet will keep your kids engaged all summer long with hands-on activities, art projects, reading and writing activities, educational videos, and games.
  • Play it like Bingo or Tiddlywinks to select an activity, or simply challenge them to complete the whole card by the end of the summer.
Teaching Tips

Positives

  • You can print the black and white sheet for kids to color in or add a virtual sticker to each space once the activity is completed.
  • There are fun outdoor activities and indoor games included that help kids learn while they play.

Additional Prerequisites

  • You will need access to the internet and a device for some of the activities.
  • Some projects require materials or outdoor space to complete.
  • You will need to come up with a method for selecting the spaces

Differentiation

  • For more independent learners, have them choose which activities they would like to do first, then help them complete five in a row or the entire card.
  • Use a “pin the tail on the donkey” method for randomly selecting the activities to make it more fun and interactive.
  • The upcycle activities are a great way to use items that would otherwise be thrown away for a hands-on project.
  • Help your kids make a list of things they learned from each activity and then review it with them at the end of the summer.
Scientist Notes
This is a summer learning challenge and it contains fun activities that will let K-2 students understand key environmental changes, challenges and techniques in bird watching, biodiversity conservation, bee protection, recycling, and also tactics to conserve their natural resources. On that account, this resource is recommended.
