Synopsis
This data from Our World in Data can be viewed as a map, chart, or table and illustrates how much of a country's energy comes from renewable resources.
Students can also play a time-lapse from 1965 and on to see the evolution of a country's renewable energy use.
The map gives students a great way to quickly visualize which countries are excelling in implementing renewable resources.
Students can easily toggle between charts and maps to see the data in a way that works best for them.
Prerequisites
Students should understand the definition of renewable and the environmental differences between renewable and nonrenewable resources.
Differentiation & Implementation
Students can discuss the importance of renewable energy in combating the climate crisis and look at local resources to see how places in their community can incorporate renewable sources of energy.
