Keeling Curve Prize Press Release

SubjectToClimate named a finalist for Keeling Curve Prize

We are thrilled to be finalists for the 2022 Keeling Curve Prize award from the Global Warming Mitigation Project in the Social & Cultural Pathways sector.

Every year, the Global Warming Mitigation Project locates and funds the best climate solutions the world has to offer. The Keeling Curve Prize chooses organizations that have a proven track record of taking greenhouse gasses out of the atmosphere. They have developed five categories, each one addressing a specific sector of climate innovation:

  • Carbon Sinks (Natural & Engineered)
  • Energy
  • Finance
  • Social & Cultural Pathways
  • Transport & Mobility

SubjectToClimate was named 1 of 4 finalists in the Social & Cultural Pathways Sector out of 400 applicants. The other finalists include:

  • Wastezon - envisioning a waste-free world by using a mobile app to connect recycling industries with households to transact recyclable solid wastes. (Maybe have their logo?)
  • Canopy - transforming unsustainable supply chains, catalyzing innovative solutions, and keeping the world’s vital forests standing.
  • The Inga Foundation - helping communities and farmers in Honduras change from slash-and-burn agriculture methods to alternative systems that could save farmers from having to clear new areas of rainforest every year.

The Keeling Curve Prize is named after a graph created by Dr. Charles David Keeling that represents the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in Earth’s atmosphere since 1958.

“The cornerstone of GWMP is our Keeling Curve Prize, awarded annually to multiple private and public sector projects that increase awareness and implement actions aimed at abating human contributions to the carbon footprint of the planet - the principal reason for the global warming crisis.” The Global Warming Mitigation Project.

SubjectToClimate is honored to be a finalist for the Keeling Curve Prize, and we look forward to the announcement of the winners at the end of July. We send a warm congratulations to all of our fellow finalists.
